The Blue Hill Public Library seeks audit and tax preparation services for the year ending, 12/31/2021.
The Blue Hill Public Library, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has used LG&H CPA, of Bangor for many years for accounting services. While the library remains very pleased with the services received from LG&H, it seeks competitive proposals for accounting for the year ending 2021, with work to be performed early in 2022.
The anticipated scope of work is as follows:
- A full audit for the year ending 12/31/21, including preparation of the management letter, and adjusting journal entries to maintain GAAP compliance.
- Preparation, review assistance and filing of IRS 990 and any other tax compliance documents.
- Initial meetings with the Library Board and Finance Committee, and potentially an Audit Subcommittee, to set forth the details of the audit and the necessary meetings when the final results of the audit have been determined.
- Routine consultation on financial and nonprofit matters as related to finance practices, presentation of financial information and other related matters throughout 2021.
Area accounting firms are invited to submit proposals for these services, which should include:
- information about the firm’s approach to nonprofit auditing
- the name of the primary contact on staff for the proposed services
- any background information about the qualifications and experience of key staff who would be involved in the audit. Nonprofit client references are encouraged.
- All submissions must include a fixed fee for the scope of services described above.
The library offers relevant organizational and financial data for review linked below. Questions in advance of submission are welcome at the e-mail address below for submissions. All questions should be received by June 30, 2021 and the library shall respond to all the questions promptly.
Proposals are due no later than July 15, 2021. To submit, please send a PDF proposal to Rich Boulet, Library Director at rboulet@bhpl.net with the subject: “audit proposals.” Submissions will be reviewed on or around July 19th.
The library will accept the proposal that, in its determination, sets forth the most responsible terms for the services and is not required to accept the lowest bid.
Thank you in advance for your interest in the Blue Hill Public Library. We look forward to reviewing your proposal.
