September 2, 2023 - November 30, 2023
The Larchwood Case will feature work by the Falcons homeschool group in Sedgwick, taught by Anna Logowitz. Falcons students make most of their own learning supplies and study themes that tie several subjects together, so this display shows their work with chemistry, geology, mass and phonics (the clay periodic table), fractions and carpentry (fractions blocks), and math and storytelling (math gnomes and journals.)
Falcons also study how to learn, and got a great lesson in mistakes when the first round of periodic table tiles were left out in the rain and melted. Students responded by remaking the entire periodic table in a fantastic three-day marathon of teamwork, and decided to display the damaged tiles, too, as they are a great example of erosion and of the power of mistakes to help us learn and grow. The display will be up through November.
