Everyone is invited to join history professionals Director Raney Bach of the Mount Desert Island Historical Society and History Professor Todd Little Siebold from College of the Atlantic, for a discussion about local history and it's impacts on the present, in the library's Howard room on Thursday, June 30th at 7:00 PM.

Decisions made in the past affect our lives in profound ways, and the role of teachers and museums is to inspire people to recognize that history is relevant today and into the future. Making history relevant takes creativity and passion, with work that is pushing the boundaries of what people expect from local history, Raney and Todd will share how historic records can help better understand race relations and climate change, and how they are using diverse media to reach new audiences.

This program is co-sponsored by the library and the Blue Hill Historical Society, and is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, please contact Kayleigh at or by calling 374-5515.
