Paint the Peninsula 2019

On the morning of July 20th, over 80 artists will find a spot on the Blue Hill Peninsula, where every bend in the road reveals breathtaking vistas. In oil, watercolor, pastel, ink or any other medium, artists will capture bays dotted with islands and fishing boats, saltwater farms with weathered barns, the forested landscape of Blue Hill Mountain, and much more!  Without question, this area is home to some of the most iconic views in the state of Maine.

The resulting works will be displayed at the library that afternoon at the Paint the Peninsula Reception and Silent Auction where over 100 pieces will be available for purchase. Starting bids range from $50 – $400 and emerging artists share the exhibit with some of the region’s most celebrated painters. Proceeds are shared between the library and the artists.

The Blue Hill Public Library is an independent non-profit organization serving all members of the Blue Hill Peninsula, and it depends on the financial support of the local community. There is a $15 suggested admission fee — advance tickets are available at the Library until Friday, July 19th for $12. Children and participating artists are admitted free. For more information, call the Library 374-5515.  Your questions might also be answered here: http://www.bhpl.net/ptp-participating-artists-faqs/
