A series of recent paintings by Sherry Streeter will be on display at the Blue Hill Library during the month of June in a show entitled Nests, Birds, Earth and Sky. Working mainly in oils but also in acrylic and mixed media, painting is a passion for Sherry who finds inspiration in all aspects of nature, with a recent focus on avian life. The show will open on June 1st, and a wine and cheese reception will be held on Friday, June 8th from 4:30 to 6:30—the public is welcome.
Sherry came to Brooklin forty years ago as a graphic designer, becoming Art Director at WoodenBoat Magazine before moving on to free-lance book design. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and has shown work at many area galleries. This summer she will show work at Artemis Gallery in NE Harbor, Gallery B in Castine, and Chapter Two in Corea. The show will be in the library’s Britton Gallery and Roland Howard Room, available for viewing during library hours subject to the Howard Room schedule.
