February 1, 2020 - March 27, 2020
The Blue Hill Public Library has a new exhibit in the children’s Larchwood case for the months of February and March, An Age Continuum covers the years of a lifetime through little dolls and toys, wooden and porcelain sculptures, and pottery, from the collection of Marjorie Yesley. Beginning with a tiny baby in an acorn and finishing with an elderly Austrian couple, in between there are two girls from Mao Zedong’s China (1960s), some colorfully dressed children from Germany, and a lovely geisha from Japan.
About the exhibit Marjorie says, “Maybe, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll come across someone close to YOUR age on this trip through time and countries of the world!” The items were collected on family travels from the 1960’s to the 1990’s. The exhibit will be available for viewing during library hours through March 27. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
