Poetry Reading: Betsy Headley

Poet and photographer Betsy Headley, resident of Swanville, Maine, will read from her new collection, “Something is Always Left,” at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, April 26th at 6:00 PM. The collection was published by Maine Authors Publishing. This is her first poetry book.

“Something Is Always Left” explores the poet’s winding journey through “Iowa tornadoes, saddle shoe struggles, subways in Japan, loss of grandparents, and musings on parenthood, aging, spiritual peace, and world reflection.” Nature provides a steady source of strength and guidance, according to Betsy.

Betsy studied poetry at the college level in Colorado and Maine, and since 2009 she has been a member of a poetry group facilitated by Belfast poet Barbaria Maria. She has participated in numerous poetry contests, open-mic readings, and performed at the Belfast Poetry Festival. Her work has been published in “Off the Coast” and “The Aurorean.”
