April 28, 2018 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Blue Hill Public Library invites kids to join the “Inklings” book and movie club on Saturday, March 31st at 2:00 PM. Inklings explores stories of clever children who use their wits to overcome insurmountable odds. This month’s book is “Gauntlet” by Karuna Riazi, which was inspired by the children’s book “Jumanji” by Chris Van Allsburg.
A trio of friends from New York City find themselves trapped inside a mechanical board game that they must dismantle in order to save themselves and generations of other children in this action-packed debut that’s a steampunk Jumanji with a Middle Eastern flair. Come unlock the mystery with us while you have some snacks, make a mind blowing craft, and discuss the movie and BOTH books!
Inklings welcomes kids of all ages, with a suggested age range of 8 and up. The books and movies we read and watch together cover a wide range of subjects and styles, and we encourage families to research them in advance and decide which are right for you and your child.
