Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, teens are invited to an interactive workshop on gender justice and girls’ empowerment with recording artist and youth music teacher Ivy Ross Ricci, on Thursday, April 25th at 4:00 PM at the Blue Hill Public Library. She will show her music video Girls Sit Screaming and lead a discussion on gender equality.
According to her website, “Ivy Ross Ricci is a nationally recognized teacher, musician, and activist who thoughtfully incorporates philosophy, poetry, humor, storytelling, and a radical understanding of human potential into accessible songs and social service. She believes in the power of everyday life lessons to draw us all into the heart of Creativity, Empathy, and Awareness. Her work with youth and adults aims to dismantle discrimination based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”
