Balancing on the Edge: Manage Your Personal Cash Flow

Retired employee assistance counselor Ralph E. Topham will present a talk, “Balancing on the Edge,” about managing personal cash flow at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday January 25th, at 7:00 PM. He will talk about how a person can structure individual finances the same way a business does, in order to avoid common financial pitfalls and maximize access to one’s own money.

Ralph Topham says that this talk is based upon a system of personal financial management created out of necessity while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He has a B.A. in zoology from the University of Texas, an M.A.T. from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.Ed. from the University of Utah. He developed the talk when he worked at Vanderbilt University as an employee assistance counselor.

Ralph developed this presentation in 2010 while working at Vanderbilt University as an Employee Assistance Counselor. It is based upon a system of personal financial management created out of necessity while he was serving as an Airman in the United States Air Force.

Ralph has a B.A. in zoology from the University of Texas, an M.A.T. from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and an M.Ed. from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. In Salt Lake City, he became a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Care Provider. In Nashville, he worked with the EAP at Vanderbilt University. He retired in 2013.
